Questions

Questions and answers

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask it in a prayer request or a session request.

Do I need to be Catholic?

No. Anyone can ask for prayer. I pray as a Catholic, and I won't pressure you about your faith.

What does it cost?

Prayer requests are always free. For a healing prayer session, send a request and I will reply to you personally. I never charge for prayer.

Is this a Church program?

No. I'm a Catholic layman praying on my own. This is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Catholic Church or any diocese or parish. It is not a sacrament, and it is not a Church service.

Should I stop seeing my doctor?

No. Keep seeing your doctors and follow their care. I don't diagnose anything, and I will never tell you to stop or change a treatment. Scripture says: Honour the physician for the need thou hast of him: for the most High hath created him. (Ecclesiasticus 38:1)

Will I be healed?

I don't know, and I won't pretend to. Healing is God's gift. The Church teaches that even the most intense prayers do not always obtain the healing of all illnesses (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1508). We pray with confidence and leave the answer to God.

Will you tell me what is wrong, or what will happen?

No. I don't diagnose and I don't predict. If something comes to mind in prayer, I offer it humbly for you to weigh. You're free to set it aside.

How does prayer by phone or video work?

Much like in person. We set a time, then we talk and pray together. Distance is no obstacle to prayer.

Can we meet in person?

Yes, in the Phoenix area, when we can arrange it. We agree on the place together. You're welcome to bring a family member or friend.

Can you pray for someone who isn't with me?

Yes. Send a prayer request with their first name and what you're asking for. Share only what they would be comfortable with.

Can I ask for prayer for my child?

Yes. A parent or guardian sends the request. For a session with a child, a parent or guardian stays the whole time.

I'm under 18. Can I ask for prayer?

Yes, if you are 13 or older. You can send a prayer request any time. If you are under 13, ask a parent or guardian to send it for you. For a session, a parent or guardian sends the request and stays the whole time.

Will you put a hand on my shoulder?

Only in person, and only if you say yes. It is a simple sign of praying together, nothing more. You can say no, or stop, at any time.

Do you anoint with oil or hear confessions?

No. Only a priest can hear your confession or give the Anointing of the Sick. If you are seriously ill, elderly and frail, or facing a serious operation, ask your parish priest for the Anointing.

What if I'm afraid something evil is at work?

Go to your parish priest, and talk to your doctor as well. Judging that belongs to the Church's pastors, not to me. I never speak to or command any spirit.

I will pray with you for peace and protection, as Jesus taught us to pray: deliver us from evil. The prayer to St. Michael is on the Prayers page.

What happens to what I send?

It travels encrypted to a private database on a server my office runs. It is kept there, not in email. I read it there myself.

I don't sell it, rent it or publish it. Ask, and I'll delete it. The privacy page has the details.

How soon will I hear back?

I read every request. For a session request, I reply personally by email, as soon as I can. For a prayer request, I pray for you, and I may write back if you left your email.

What time zone are you in?

Arizona. Arizona time does not change for daylight saving, so the time difference with you may change during the year. I always confirm times in both.

What if I'm in crisis right now?

Call or text 988 now. It's free, confidential and open 24/7. In an emergency, call 911. Outside the US, call your local emergency number. When you are safe, send a prayer request. I will pray for you.

Still wondering? Ask.

Send a prayer request, or ask for a healing prayer session. I read every one.

Prayer, not medical care.
